Allele types are based on nucleotide sequence identity. “Identical” indicates that the X. perforans and X. euvesicatoria alleles are identical to each other and thus cannot be distinguished. “Unique” indicates alleles not found in the reference strains. Allelic assignments based on amino acid sequence identity are shown in Table S3 in the supplemental material, because we observed both synonymous and amino acid replacement substitutions.
