Wrapping-Bending model of segrosome complex formation. TubR binds to DNA in a dimer conformation (A) and spreads wrapping the DNA by one or alternatively two sides (B), which induces certain DNA twisting (red arrow). Finally, DNA wrapped by TubR bends at the stronger and weaker binding sites (C) generating a two helical ring-like structures. Based on previous model (10), each ring could support one TubZ filament (D, left) for a synchronized DNA mobilization. Alternatively, a single TubZ filament could bind to the inter-ring region (D, right) favouring a simpler mechanism for DNA movement.
