Polyamine lead agents potentiate the activity of unrelated antibiotic efflux substrates. P. aeruginosa (1419) cells were treated with polyamine molecules at increasing concentrations, alongside tetracycline (A) or chloramphenicol (B). Shown is the fold potentiation of each antibiotic (EC90 values) as the efflux pump inhibitor concentration was increased.
