The Pre/Pro region of α-conotoxin TxIC demonstrates a high level of amino acid identity to established members of the 4/7 α-conotoxin family. N-terminal processing of α-conotoxin TxIC shares similarities with the processing of α-conotoxin Vc.1.1 required to produce the mature toxin. Similar mechanisms operate to process α-conotoxin MII. C-terminal brackets [ ] represent stop codons within the formal cDNA sequence.
