Inhibition of RASMC proliferation by SNAP, DETA/NO, and DFMO. Cell proliferation was assessed by thymidine incorporation into DNA during a 24-h incubation, as described in Materials and Methods. The concentrations of test agents were as follows: DETA/NO, 3, 10, 30, 100 μM; SNAP, 3, 10, 30, 100 μM; and DFMO, 0.1, 0.3, 1, 3 mM. Data were calculated as dpm/10⁵ cells and expressed as percent of control (assigned 100%), where control represents cells grown in the absence of added test agents. Data represent mean ± SE of duplicate determinations from three to four experiments.
