FIGURE 1

Effects of herring oil on biofilm formation by Staphylococcus aureus strains and on their antimicrobial activities. S. aureus (MSSA 6538 or MRSA 33591) biofilm formations (OD570) were quantified in the presence of herring oil for 24 h in 96-well polystyrene plates (A,B). Planktonic cell growths (OD600) of S. aureus cells (MSSA 6538 and MRSA 33591) were measured in the presence of herring oil in 250 ml flasks agitated at 250 rpm (C,D). p < 0.05 vs. non-treated controls.
