Spatial patterns of genetic diversity within each city analysed using the software sGD. For each city, genetic diversity was calculated for the genetic neighbourhood surrounding each sample. The genetic neighbourhood size (i.e. radius) was determined by the distance at which spatial autocorrelation between genetic and geographical distance reached zero (figure 2).
