Effect of β-escin on HUVECs. (A) Inhibitory effect of β-escin on cell viability. HUVECs were treated with various concentrations of β-escin (1–100 µg/mL) in the presence of bFGF (30 ng/mL) for 48 h. Cell viability was measured by MTT assay as described in the Materials and Methods section. The results represent the mean values ± SD of three independent experiments; (B) Proliferation assay using quantitative ELISA analysis of BrdU incorporation into HUVECs during exposure to β-escin (1–100 µg/mL).
