FIG 6

Existence of mycobacterial strains in murine macrophage line RAW 264.7. The macrophages were infected with an approximate MOI of 10:1 (refer to Materials and Methods for details). The net CFU per milliliter of the mycobacterial strains before lyses (considered 100%) as well as postlyses (after 24 h of infection) are plotted. The data represent the results from six replicates; error bars show SDs. Statistical significance was calculated by the Bonferroni t test using one-way ANOVA. The comparison showed a significant difference between Δms33/32 and mc2155 or Δms33/32::pM33 (P < 0.001) but an insignificant difference between mc2155 and Δms33/32::pM33 (P = 0.156).
