Figure 1.

Inhibitory effect of IL-33 on the growth of HCT-116 colon cancer cells. (A) The clonogenic survival assay of HCT-116 cells in the presence and absence of IL-33. The number of colonies was counted and expressed as a percentage of total colonies in the controls. (B) Immunocytochemistry for PCNA of HCT-116 cells in the presence and absence of IL-33. PCNA staining intensity was analyzed and results are expressed as the average integrated staining intensity relative to that in control cells. Original magnification, ×400. (C) Cell proliferation evaluated with a proliferation kit in the presence and absence of IL-33. Results are expressed as the mean OD ± standard error of the mean in each group. ÙP<0.05, compared with the control. OD, optical density; IL-33, interleukin 33; PCNA, proliferating cell nuclear antigen.
