Topical TWEAK promotes extracellular matrix synthesis in burn wounds. Burn wounds created in the wild-type BALB/c mice were treated with either normal saline (NaCl) or TWEAK solution (20 μg/ml). (A) The distribution of cutaneous collagen was detected by Masson’s trichrome staining. (B,C) The HAS-1 and laminin α1 proteins were determined by Western blotting. The mRNA expression levels of HAS-1 (D) and laminin α1 (E) were determined accordingly. ^∗p < 0.05, compared with day 0 in the same group; Δp < 0.05, compared with blank group on the same day; #p < 0.05, compared with normal saline group on the same day.
