The half-maximal cytotoxic concentration (CC50) is the concentration that results in the reduction of 50% of the amount of cellular ATP after 24 or 48 h of treatment of uninfected cells.
The half-maximal effective concentration (EC50) is the concentration of drug at which virus yield (MOI of 1 PFU/cell) is inhibited by 50%. Virus yield was determined by plaque assay 24 h p.i. for WNV and ZIKV and 48 h p.i. for DENV-2.
