Lipid extracts of lag1Δlac1Δ cells resemble those from FB1 treated wild-type cells. Overnight cultures of wild-type (lanes 1 and 2) and lag1Δlac1Δ (lanes 3 and 4) were resuspended in 1 ml of SC-media to a density of ∼107 cells, preincubated for 120 min in the presence (lanes 2 and 4) or absence (lanes 1 and 3) of 100 μM fumonisin B1 (FB1) and subsequently labeled with 5 μCi [3H]palmitate for 60 min. Whole cell lipid extracts were analyzed on HPTLC plates resolved in solvent B. A short exposure of the top of the TLC and a long exposure of the bottom of the TLC plate are shown.
