(A) Higher levels of miR-133a protein were expressed in day 7 postischemic gastrocnemius anterior (GA) muscle tissues from mice with type 1 DM compared with day 7 postischemic GA tissues from nondiabetic mice. (B) Cultured endothelial cells (HUVEC) exposed to high glucose culture (D25) showed higher level of miR-133a compared with HUVECs exposed to normal glucose (D5) 24 h under hypoxia and serum starvation conditions.
