Comparative cell growth and P3HB production of engineered E. coli cultivated with yeast extract or corn steep liquor as nitrogen source. E. coli JM109 (pBHR68 + pMCS-pta-ackA) was cultivated in MM medium supplemented with 5 g/L acetate at 37 °C for 48 h. Different concentration (0, 2, 4, 6, 8, 10 g/L) of yeast extract (YE) or corn steep liquor (CSL) was added to the culture as nitrogen source.
