The odds ratio for individual’s being positive by PCR for each of the risk factors was calculated using the positive individuals as cases and the negative individuals as controls. Confidence intervals are given within brackets. The analysed risk factors were population density, frequency of artificial feeding places, age of population and handling of slaughter waste.
