Setup for freeze-fracture of isolated mitochondria samples. The razor blade is held securely in place by forceps above the sample (A), making direct contact with fracture surface. Elevating the razor blade at a 45° angle over the sample creates an elevated target corner (B) to be struck firmly in a downward motion to cleanly fracture the pellet.
