One-dimensional structures in OCT have speckle-sized appearance in single cross-sections. Filtering techniques are therefore incapable of distinguish between bright contrast speckle and retinal structures. The proposed 3D similarity window considers the volumetric nature of structures with 3D similarity windows and a 2D or 3D search windows.
