Normal anatomy of the scrotum. The testes (T) show homogeneous granular echogenicity and the testicular mediastinum is seen as a hyperechogenic linear band at the center of each testis. The tunica albuginea appears as a hyperechogenic line around the testicles (demarcated between the arrows), usually with small amount of anechoic fluid between its layers. The head of the epididymis (Ep) can be clearly seen in the sagittal plane, resting on the testicle and with similar echogenicity.
