The survival of donor-derived dendritic cells in recipient spleen and their expression of heme oxygenase-1 (HO-1) after adoptive transfer. After being labeled with CellVue Claret, untreated, cobalt protoporphyrin-pretreated-, or SnPP-pretreated BALB/c mouse-derived immature dendritic cells (5 × 106) were injected intravenously into C57BL/6 mice. Seven or 14 days later, the spleens were harvested for immunofluorescent detection of CellVue Claret (red), HO-1 expression (green), and DAPI (red). Representative photographs were captured under a confocal imaging system (magnification, 600×; n = 3 per group).
