Vγ9 and JγP gene segments are subject to nuclease activity, non-templated (N) nucleotide addition, and incorporation of palindromic (P) nucleotides, during recombination. Above are shown some of the possible different nucleotide sequences observed that generate the same CDR3 amino acid sequences, for five of the most common public Vγ9 sequences.
