Expression levels of APP, BDNF and GAP-43 following WBRT. Expression levels of BDNF (P=0.002) and GAP-43 (P=0.024) decreased in the hippocampus of rats in the WBRT group compared with that in the control group. The expression level of BDNF increased in the nimodipine group, compared with the WBRT group (P<0.01). Expression of APP was upregulated in the WBRT group, compared with that in the control group; however, nimodipine treatment did not significantly downregulate APP expression, compared with the WBRT group (P=0.441).
