Secondary structure and thermal stability of SAA-POPC complexes from isolated peak fractions. Parent complexes, which were prepared by cholate dialysis using 1:10 mol:mol SAA:POPC, have been incubated at 60 °C for 1 h, and peak fractions I-III were isolated by SEC as described in Fig. 4. Data of intact parent SAA-POPC complexes are shown for comparison (dashed lines). (A) Far-UV CD spectra at 25 °C of isolated peak fractions I (dark grey), II (grey) and III (light grey). (B) CD melting data at 222 nm recorded during heating and cooling at a constant rate. The melting temperature Tm for peak fraction I is indicated; intact SAA-POPC complexes have a similar Tm.
