Healthy volunteer imaged at 3 T using QISS bSSFP (left) and QISS FLASH (right) protocols. The subject had a metal fixation rod in the right femur relating to a prior fracture. QISS FLASH shows much better image quality in the region of the metal rod. The right superficial femoral artery, which is completely obscured by magnetic susceptibility-related artefact (arrows) in the QISS bSSFP images, is well depicted in the QISS FLASH image.
