HSPA1A expression in hair follicles before, immediately after and 2.5 h after heat treatment. RT-qPCR data from five independent experiments are shown. HSPA1A RNA quantities were normalized using cellular RPL13A RNA and expressed as relative quantities. RNA was extracted from the biopsies using the RNeasy Fibrous Tissue Mini Kit (Qiagen) according to the supplier’s protocol. Final elution of RNA was with 30 μl water (from the kit). 500 ng RNA was reverse-transcribed employing the QuantiTect RT Kit (Qiagen).
