The authors wish to note the following: “In Table 2, the flowering time for one of the F2 lines was calculated differently from the other two lines (transplanting date or germination date to flowering initiation date). The corrected flowering time data and analysis is updated. We also reanalyzed the fitness data using a more appropriate statistical model that better describes our data, and the results have been updated in Table 2. The overall conclusions on the fitness cost of the mutation are still valid. We sincerely apologize for these mistakes.” The corrected Table 2 appears below.

Germination assays were performed on agar in 48-well plates before transplant. Individual plant identity was maintained throughout the experiment, and these values represent only the individuals represented here; however, no difference in germination time was observed between the genotypes in the entire experiment, which represented 1,440 seeds from three independent lines (480 seeds per line).
