Axial concentration of red blood cells and microparticles flowing through a bifurcating channel. Both red blood cells and microparticles exhibit a peak in front of the bifurcation apex. The microparticle concentration increases directly in front of the apex, whereas the red blood cell concentration exhibits a second small peak because of a second cell flowing onto a cell already being stuck at the apex.
