Cytokine levels. The BALB/c mice were injected intraperitoneally with S. epidermidis B020 (2 × 10⁸ CFU/mouse). One hour later, the mice were treated with LysGH15 (20 μg/mouse) or PBS. At the indicated times, IFN-γ, TNF-α, and IL-6 levels in the serum were determined. * and **, P values of <0.05 and <0.01, respectively, compared with the buffer-treated control; #, P < 0.05 compared with the uninfected control.
