Five-year survival rates for two time periods for patients with pediatric cancer diagnosed from birth to 19 years old. Five-year survival is presented for all sites (International Classification of Childhood Cancers) and specific histologic subtypes contrasting outcome for children with cancer diagnosed between 1975 and 1979 with those with cancer diagnosed between 2003 and 2009. Data obtained from the National Cancer Institute SEER program from nine SEER registries on the basis of patient cases observed through 2010.
