Notes: Gross enrolment rate is calculated by dividing the number of students in Grades 1–8 with the relevant population in that age group (i.e., aged 6–13); 1990/1991–1996/1997 school years are before to the introduction of the CEL. For these years, the number of students is calculated as the total of the students in the 5‐year primary school and 3 years junior high school. The graph is calculated by MONE statistical data, between 1990/1991 and 2003/2004.
