PIP₃ induces uptake of nonmotile P. aeruginosa by BMDCs. Murine WT bone marrow-derived dendritic cells (BMDCs) were assayed for relative phagocytosis of the indicated P. aeruginosa PA14 strains (MOI of 10) without or after treatment of cells with 12 μM PIP₃. The data are normalized to phagocytosis of bacterial strains without PIP₃ treatment and represented as fold increase in phagocytosis. All data were analyzed using an unpaired t test with Welch's correction and are representative of at least two independent biological experiments (n ≥ 8). ***, P ≤ 0.0005; *, P ≤ 0.05; ns, not significant, for results compared to results without PIP₃ treatment.
