Eligibility criteria

Inclusion criteria	Exclusion criteria
Shoulder pain of >6 weeks’ duration.* Aged between 20 years and 55 years. Fluent in English or has a proxy to assist with completion of the study questionnaire.	Inflammatory arthritis. Same-sided fracture of the scapula, humerus or clavicle within the past 12 months. Same-sided dislocation of the glenohumeral joint or acromioclavicular joint within the past 3 months. Inability to provide informed consent.

*Pain that is located between the distal upper trapezius muscle and the deltoid insertion due to conditions including but not limited to: osteoarthritis, rotator cuff pathology, capsule pathology, glenohumeral instability or internal derangement of the glenohumeral joint or acromioclavicular joint.
