The mitochondrial Ca2+ uniporter is a complex composed of pore-forming proteins (comprising the channel subunit MCU, the dominant-negative subunit of the channel MCUb, and the short transmembrane regulator EMRE) and of regulatory proteins (MICU1 and MICU2).
