DapF stimulation of RppH hydrolase activity. (A) W130A mutant of RppH is capable of hydrolyzing RNA with 5′ triphosphate termini, generating RNA with 5′ monophosphate termini (upper-left panel). Addition of DapF has only a small influence on the activity of the W130A mutant of RppH (lower-left panel). No increased hydrolase activity of RppH is detected in the presence of DapF mutants (F58R or V19K, right panel). (B) Measured activities are calculated by the increase in products and normalized to that of wild-type RppH.
