Combining SdN and SdC suppressors overcomes need for Sti1. Wild-type (STI1⁺) or sti1∆ cells expressing wild-type Hsp82, A107N, E402R, or the A107N,E402R double mutant (N + R) as the sole source of Hsp90 were plated on rich medium as in Figure 1D and incubated at the indicated temperatures. A107N and E402R each partially suppressed the high temperature growth defect of sti1∆ cells, while combining them (N + R) fully restored growth. WT, wild type.
