FK506 release profiles of the various PLGA films.

In vitro drug release testing was performed to determine the FK506 (Tacrolimus) release profiles from the various PLGA films. PLGA films with 1 µg/cm² and 3 µg/cm² initial loading concentrations were used for this study with either flat, 10/10 µm, or 30/30 µm micropatterns. The rate is presented in ng/day ± SEM, n = 8 per group for this experiment. 1 µg/cm² films were discontinued after day 28 due to the fact that they were releasing drug at such a low rate.
