THP-1 monocytes were seeded (3 × 105 cells/well) in 24-well plates in the presence of TNF-α 10 ng/ml and incubated with RES derivatives at 30 µM (A), or with increasing concentrations (1, 5 10, 20, 30, 40 µM) of RES-LA (B). After an incubation lapse-time of 24 h at 37°C, the supernatant was collected and tested by zymography. Gel bands showed the MMP-9 gelatinolytic activity.
