The effect of hypoxia on forearm blood flow at rest was calculated for each condition as the difference in absolute FBF between hypoxia (Hyp) and rest (Rest 2). In Protocol 1, combined inhibition of NO, PGs, Na⁺/K⁺‐ATPase and K_IR channels abolished the hypoxia‐induced increase in FBF at rest. In Protocol 2, combined inhibition of Na⁺/K⁺‐ATPase and K_IR channels also abolished the hypoxia‐induced increase in FBF at rest. ^* P < 0.05 vs. control; ^† P < 0.05 vs. zero.
