Fig. 5. High cell density increases the expression of selected Stat3 target genes. Tu-2449 glioma cells were plated with different cell numbers and cultured for 24 h. RNA was isolated, reverse transcribed and analyzed using q-real-time PCR. Expression of Stat3, Socs3 and Bcl2l1 was significantly increased in cells grown at high density. The values were normalized versus Gapdh expression, which served as an endogenous control. Results are presented as mean ± SD. Statistical significance was calculated compared to cells with low density; *p < 0.05, ***p < 0.001.
