Changes in antioxidant gene expression. Five-day-old wild-type (WT), noa1, and nia1/2 mutant plants were grown on MS medium supplemented with 1.0 μM melatonin for 5 days, and then transplanted to medium in the presence or absence of 125 mM NaCl for another 24 h. The mRNA expression of APX1 (A), APX2 (B), CAT1 (C), and FSD1 (D) in root tissues were analyzed by qPCR. Control seedlings (Con) were grown in MS medium alone. Data are means ± SE of three independent experiments with at least three replicates for each.
