Cellular immune response after the immunization. Splenocytes and bone marrow cells were isolated from mice (N = 4) at week 4 post vaccination. (A) IL-4-secreting cells in spleens and (B) IFN-γ-secreting cells in spleens. Cytokine-secreting cells in splenocytes were measured in the presence of 4 µg/ml purified inactivated Aichi virus, PR8 virus, or M2e peptides as stimulators by the ELISPOT method. (C,D) Numbers of Aichi- and PR8-specific IgG plasma cells in bone marrow and spleens, respectively. Data represent mean ± SEM.
