The experimental setup for both User Study I and User Study II. In the first study users interacted with the computer keyboard to select the direction toward which they perceived the torque pulses. In the second study, the magnetic tracking system recorded orientation, and closed-loop guidance was provided. In both studies, users held the device behind a barrier to block it from their sight.
