Effect of LL-37 and hBD-2 on PMC migratory response. PMCs were incubated with different concentrations of LL-37, TNF at 0.05 pg/mL (positive control) or medium alone (spontaneous mast cell migration) in a Boyden microchamber. Ten HPF were counted in each assay (×250), and each sample was tested in duplicate. Spontaneous migration served as a control and was referred to as 100%. Results are expressed as a percentage of spontaneous migration. Data represents the mean ± SD of three independent experiments performed with duplicate samples (each experiment was performed on 2 animals/PMC isolates). Differences were considered significant at P < 0.05 and are labeled with an asterisk (*) on each graph (Student’s t-test).
