Inhibition of Ang II-mediated ERK activation by HDAC blockade. (A) The acetylation of histone 3 (Lys23) was assessed by Western blot after treatment for 12 h. (B) The abundance of phosphorylated ERK1/2 was determined in pericytes exposed to Ang II with and without VPA for 12 h or pretreated with the MEK inhibitor (MEKi) (50 μM PD98059) for 1 h and then stimulated with Ang II for 12 h.
