Overlapping gene signatures of microglial core profiles associated with multiple diseases identified in three independent studies. Using the “primed” module by Holtman and coworkers (95), the gene profile of disease-associated microglia identified by Keren-Shaul and coworkers (35) and the gene profile of the microglial neurodegenerative phenotype identified by Krasemann and coworkers (34), three genes were identified to be shared among the three microglia datasets associated with multiple diseases.
