Effects of splenectomy on lung macrophages responding to ozone. BAL cells, collected 24–72 h after exposure of CTL and SPX mice to air or ozone, were stained with antibodies to CD11b, Ly6G, Ly6C, F4/80, and CD11c or isotypic controls and analyzed by flow cytometry. Macrophages (MP) were defined as CD11b + Ly6G F4/80 + CD11c+ and Ly6CHi (pro-inflammatory) or Ly6CLo (anti-inflammatory).
