Transport of TMT-3 through the TM fragments for uninfected rats, guinea pigs, rabbits and humans in vitro, after a 1 hour incubation. We wished to determine whether trans-TM transport was limited to the rat, or was more widely shared among mammalian species including humans. Our data using the in vitro chamber suggest that trans-TM transport is widespread among mammals. Controls for each species were WT phage.
