Data are presented as mean±sd. Tobacco smoke or treatment with simvastatin for 1 week prior to smoke exposure and continued with exposure to tobacco smoke caused weight loss, while treatment with simvastatin only on the tobacco smoke exposure days had no effect. All groups were analysed by one-way ANOVA with Bonferroni corrections for multiple comparisons.
