The ${\mathbb{R}}_{eff}\left(0\right)$ decreases as the immunity in humans increases and Ae. aegypti are infected with Wolbachia. This indicates that even though infecting the mosquitoes with Wolbachia might not reduce the initial ${\mathbb{R}}_0$ to be less than one, it could be an effective strategy in future seasonal outbreaks to bring ${\mathbb{R}}_{eff}$ to be less than one when part of the population is immune.
