Natural anticoagulants cascade and various anticoagulant agents. Antithrombin is an inactivator of thrombin and factor Xa and a major inhibitor of blood coagulation. Heparin and its derivatives act by increasing the activity of antithrombin. Rivaroxaban directly binds to the active site of Xa, blocking the activity.
